Privacy
Written to describe what this site actually does, rather than assembled from a template. It is short because the site does little.
What we store
If you use a calculator, the name and date you enter are processed to produce a result and are not written to a database. They appear in the page URL so the result is shareable, which means they may appear in your own browser history — that is the only place they persist.
If you send us a message through the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message so that a person can read and reply to it. We also store the country your request came from, which Cloudflare provides, purely to triage abuse.
We record anonymous page events — which page, which country, and a non-reversible hash — to understand which calculators get used. There is no identifier that follows you between visits or between sites.
What we do not do
- No advertising cookies, and no cookies at all except the one storing your theme choice
- No third-party analytics, tag managers, session recorders or heatmaps
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with anyone
- No profiling, and no automated decisions about you
- No email marketing — we have no mailing list
Third parties
There is exactly one: Cloudflare, which runs the site and therefore processes every request as our infrastructure provider. Nothing else is contacted when you load a page.
In particular, the fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts. That was not true when this page was first written, and it is the reason it changed: loading a font from a third-party origin discloses your IP address to whoever runs it, and we would rather serve the extra 125 KB ourselves than hand every visitor's address to someone else.
Your reports
Report pages are not indexed by search engines and carry a header instructing crawlers to skip them. They are not cached by us or by any intermediary. Because they are generated on demand rather than stored, there is nothing on our side to delete.
Getting things deleted
Email us through the contact form and we will delete any contact submission you have sent. We do not require you to prove your identity for this, because there is nothing sensitive to protect behind it.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
